Cell transfection machinery
Enhanced transfection efficiency with high viability.
Deliver any cargo to a broad range of cell types.
Transfection of cell sub populations.
Minimal impact on cell viability, homeostasis and functionality.
The LumiPore platform offers efficient cytosolic delivery of various compounds, including nucleic acids, proteins, contrast agents. It works efficiently on a broad range of cell types, including hard-to-transfect cells such as stem cells and immune cells.
The LumiPore technology is compatible with virtually all transparent cell culture substrates, such as well plates and petri dishes. Cells can be transfected directly in those substrates in the presence of their optimal cell medium.
The LumiPore technology is more gentle than the current state-of-the-art electroporation technologies and therefore improves your transfection yield, resulting in a higher number of transfected and viable cells. Nanoparticle-sensitized photoporation leads to 2.5 times more living mRNA transfected stimulated human T cells compared to the state-of-the-art electroporation platform.
The LumiPore technology offers high-throughput with limited hands-on time, making it suitable for screening applications. After adding the proprietary sensitizing agents and effector molecules to the cells, the substrate is placed in the device and the transfection can be started with a click on a button. An entire multiwell plate is transfected in less than ten minutes.
The LumiPore technology offers the unique possibility to transfect specific subpopulations of cells. For instance, cells can be transfected according to user-defined patterns. This opens up unique experimental solutions for e.g. tissue engineering applications or for studying bystander effects.
Additionally, the LumiPore platform integrates transmission and fluorescence imaging of your cells. This allows to deliver compounds to specific cells which are either selected manually or automatically by making use of automated in-line image processing. Transfection can be done with single cell resolution.
Illustrated here is the selective delivery of two different fluorescent labels to adjacent neurons, facilitating interaction studies between these cells.
The LumiPore technology is very gentle to cells, ensuring minimal impact on cell viability, cell proliferation, homeostasis and functionality. This has, for instance, been demonstrated on hard-to-transfect human T cells, which proliferate without delay and maintain their full cell killing potential after transfection with the LumiPore technology.
